Harry Potter Studios

We had a magical day at Harry Potter Studios! Despite the long coach journey, we were all excited for a behind-the-scenes tour of the films. The tour started with a short film, then we were free to wonder round the world of Harry Potter. The Great Hall was just as spectacular in real-life, with intricately carved gargoyles, imposing statues and, of course, Albus Dumbledore standing at the front. The only disappointment was that the famous ceiling that changes to reflect the weather was not, in fact, real.

Nonetheless we continued, seeing Gryfindor commonroom, Dumbledore's study and the Leaky Cauldron. There was the chance to learn how to perform the spells, with an instructor teaching about the different positions associated with each spell. Broomstick riding was also a favorite! The night-bus, flying car and Privet Drive were also there for us to wonder round. Plus we had the chance to buy Butterbeer, the famous drink from the series.

Next, we went to the anamatronics deptartment, where we saw how they made the giants so giant, and the mythical creatures move. It was so impressive to see all the different people who worked on one robot to ensure it was convincing.

After seeing the model of Hogwarts, the famous school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it was time for the gift shop, then back on the coach for the journey home.

It was such a spectacular day! To see all the photos from the day, click here!
