Twycross Zoo š¢š¦š¦§
Welcome back everyone! We hope you have all had a lovely break and are as excited as we are for another great year of Phab!
Last week, we kicked off the year with a fantastic trip to Twycross Zoo, beginning the day bright and early at East Drive. We spent the journey discussing which animals we were most excited to see and filling out the zoo themed adventure packs.
With plenty of exploration to be done, we divided into two groups to conquer the park and discover all there was to offer - whether the animals were out in their open enclosures or tucked away inside, each animal was exciting as the other. The baby giraffe was an adorable addition to the day and we were able to stop by the giraffe talk as well, where we learned more about the world's tallest land animal. On the flip side, we also saw a couple of Aldabra Giant Tortoises, who were around 80 and 120 years old! We rounded off the morning with some frolicking zebras and a zen flamboyance of flamingoes!
After a much needed lunch break and rest, we started the afternoon by stepping into the much-loved world of the Gruffalo and spent some time strolling through the colourful paths, following Mouse on his journey through the "deep dark woods". After a toasty visit to the butterfly paradise, we continued on to explore the array of monkeys living at Twycross, from swinging gibbons and sleepy orangutans to the black and gold howler monkeys.
To round off the day, we spent some time in the gift shop to pick up a little something to remember our day by, before heading to the coach for the journey home. We hope everyone had a great first trip and we can't wait for all the fun yet to come! See you very soon!
