Residential Trip!

At Phab Nottingham, we were ready for a brand new adventure; our first residential trip! A bus-load of us headed North to the Lake District, to enjoy sun, laughs and adventure for a whole weekend!

Friday:

At midday Friday, the fun began. The sun was out, and so too were the football games, the hula-hooping and the arts and crafts. Once everyone had arrived, we loaded on the coach (with our legendary coach driver - Roger!) ready for an exciting weekend ahead.

The coach journey whizzed by, and it wasn't too long before we were winding down country roads, and arrived at Bendrigg Lodge, Kendal; our home for the weekend! We settled in, got to know each other better and soon went to sleep.

Saturday:

Up early and excited, we got ready for a day of fun! Split into 3 groups, there was loads of brilliant activities planned. Rock-climbing, abseiling, caving, sensory room, zip-lining, archery and canoeing were all going on! With all activities fully wheel-chair accessible, everyone had a wonderful Saturday! In the evening, we danced the night away with a disco!

Sunday:

Leaving day came about all too soon, but there was still much fun to be had! In addition to the previous day's activities, an artist on site ran a brilliant arts session for us! Pottery-making was a huge hit! We made bowls, animals, gravy-boats and vases, all of which looked FANTASTIC!

After an awards ceremony, celebrating the HUGE achievements of our members this weekend, sadly it was time to head home!

We had a brilliant time away, and hope all our members did too!

A BIG thank you to everyone at Bendrigg Lodge, who made us feel so welcome! And (of-course) a massive thank you to all of our brilliant volunteers!
