National Space Centre 2018!

Our recent trip to the award-winning National Space Centre in Leicester was a fun-filled day to remember! Phab Nottingham spent the day investigating the planets and learning all about the universe. We arrived just before 11am then split off into our 4 groups to begin exploring.

We were lucky enough to have our own workshop session – in which we made our very own rockets! We designed and decorated them ourselves, then we were able to take home our creations after the workshop. But the most exciting part of the workshop was that we got to FIRE the rockets! We may not have all hit the target, but we loved watching the rockets zoom across the workshop room.

We visited all 3 floors of the iconic rocket tower, the UK’s largest dome planetarium, modelled space suits and learned all about the stars. We also became trainee astronauts on a lunar base in the tranquillity base! Its safe to say, everyone at Phab Nottingham had a wonderful day.

We would like to give a big shout out to our ‘Young Leaders’ Willow and Fergus who did an excellent job on this trip. They challenged themselves to learn some photography skills and took some amazing photographs for us on a Canon 760D. We were all very impressed with how quickly they learnt how to use the camera, and the photograph quality was brilliant! Some of their photographs are shown at the end of this blog, after the trip photographs.

We hope you are as excited as us for the next trip! Thank you so much to everyone who took

part.

Phab Nottingham :)
